Call for Abstracts
Abstract submissions for the Microplastics in Focus Conference are now open.
We invite researchers, innovators, policymakers, and practitioners to submit abstracts and share their insights on tackling microplastic pollution.
Whether you’re working in environmental monitoring, developing cutting-edge detection methods, exploring innovative remediation strategies, or shaping future policy directions, your contributions are valuable.
Abstract submissions are now open for oral and poster presentations—submit your abstract by midnight AEST, 30th July 2025, and play an active role in shaping the dialogue around this critical global issue.
We look forward to reviewing your submissions and welcoming you to the conference!
Please read the following guidelines that outline the instructions for abstract submission:
Please make clear if the paper is being submitted for consideration for an oral or poster presentation, or both. Those accepted for oral presentation do not need to generate a poster. If authors indicate “both”, where the abstract is not accepted as an oral presentation it may be accepted as a poster. The following guidelines outline the instructions for abstract submission.
- The title should be brief, but adequate to clearly identify the nature of the study.
- The body of the abstract should be no more than 300 words. Words beyond that limit will be removed prior to review.
- To maintain consistency across submissions and ensure compatibility with the conference app, tables should not be included.
- The abstract needs to be submitted as text.
- A structured format for your abstract is encourage – this is typically Aims, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Abstract submissions can align with the following themes:
- Microplastics in the Environment (soil, water, and air)
- Detection of Microplastics (Methods and Challenges)
- Microplastic Risk and Exposure (Source, Transport, and Fate)
- Emerging Frontiers in Microplastics Management, Remediation and Innovation
- Microplastics in Agriculture and Food Chains
- Beyond Plastics: Policy and Future Directions
